Identify Pest Control owner Scott Gillis talks about 5 things most people don’t know about Bed Bugs!
These blood sucking intruders are actually pretty fascinating.
DOn’t let the bed bugs bite, know what to look for and how to tell if you have an issue with Bed Bugs in your home!
In the bed bugs infant stage, they are clear and almost transparent which makes them very hard to see. It is when they start feeding off their human host that turns their skin a darker color.
MYTH:
A lot of people think that Bed Bugs are so small that they can not be seen by the naked eye. This is actually a myth! Bed Bugs get to be the size of about a dog tick and after just a few feedings they turn dark brown making them visible to the trained eye.
During the mating process a female bed bug may run off and hide in the walls of your home to have her babies. That’s right, you may have “wall bugs!”
Bed Bugs are hitchhikers! If you walk through a store or area where bed bugs are, they may jump onto your pant legs of shoes and hitchhike their way into your home. They do not discriminate. You can be the cleanest person in the world, this doesn’t mean you are immune to having bed bugs in your home!
Bed Bugs don’t live in your bed! At night, when you body temperature goes up, bed bugs are alarmed and will travel from your couch, coffee table, walls and other furniture into your bed to feed. GROSS!
